Canyons is the first map in every run. It is set at the bottom of a canyon eroded into orange sandstone, accented with sparse, dry vegetation and rusty pipage. To clear this map, the player just has to reach the ending - no boss has to be fought and no checks have to be cleared.

Subareas[]

The map can roughly be divided into 5 subareas:

  1. the entry area where the player spawns
  2. the first half of the map where the main combat happens
  3. the corrupted challenge area in the first half
  4. the break area with the deployable bots and Papy Pawn. This is also where the map splits into three pathways each leading to a different next map
  5. the second half of the map where the main combat happens

Next Maps[]

Once the player reaches the break area they are faced with a potentially difficult decision: which pathway to choose. The path straight ahead leading to Oasis is open from the beginning, while the paths to the left leading to Ruins and the path to the right leading to Quarry are locked at first. Both locked doors required their respective Map Keys to open. Once unlocked they stay permanently open.
